When a quote request is missing a location, appointment, weight or handling requirement, the first response is usually another question. These five details help Axiom price the actual shipment sooner.

01

Exact origin and destination

Include full addresses when available and identify the facility type: port terminal, rail ramp, warehouse, distribution center, or jobsite. The same ZIP code can still produce very different operating requirements.

02

Pickup and delivery timing

Provide the requested dates, appointment windows, and any firm cutoffs. For imports, include the last free day or other terminal deadlines when known.

03

Mode and equipment

State whether the move calls for drayage, truckload, intermodal, warehouse handling, or air cargo, plus the required trailer or container type.

04

Commodity and physical profile

Commodity, total weight, pallet or package count, dimensions, stackability, and temperature requirements all affect equipment fit and handling.

05

Special handling and references

Flag hazmat, UN numbers, high-value cargo, moisture sensitivity, lift requirements, container numbers, purchase orders, and other references before pricing.

Better freight facts do more than speed up pricing. They reduce the chance that the quoted move and the actual move are two different jobs.

A practical RFQ check

Before sending, ask whether a dispatcher who has never seen the freight could identify where it starts, where it ends, when it moves, what it requires, and what could make it unusual.
